Slow computer startup problems and Solutions

Windows computer has thousands of issues and problems that can affect you’re the most important task sometime. A slow PC, sluggish performance by your system, freezing issue, computer stall different PC errors, problems created by a virus program, windows registry problems, low memory and the list is countless. Windows Slow Startup is another common issue for almost all PC users. The issue can be found due to many reasons. We will detail all these factors that can affect the Windows startup rate.

Before understanding the actual cause of the slow windows startup and the slow Pc we must understand how does your window boots up. These programs or software only get invoked when the windows start up and later they remain dormant for rest of the Windows operations.

If any of these files of program is missing, corrupt or damaged it will affect the windows startup. This is why you may experience the slow startup or sometime your computer may not start at all. These are the core system files and should be protected always. A virus can damage or corrupt the Windows startup programs. Sometime the startup files can also get affected by different reasons.

Another important reason of a slow startup is too many programs are listed in the Windows startup. Windows require only few files for its boot process, but if there are too many items listed in the startup list they all get loaded into the memory and consume unnecessary space and CPU usage. This is where the Windows stuck and delays in the startup process.

Nowadays almost all the software vendors follow a practice of designing the software programs in such a way so that they can get registered in the startup list and when your computer starts the software also starts with it. This is where the speed differs.

You can simply go to the System Configuration utility and uncheck all the items that are not required for windows startup process. The steps are as follows:

Click Start and select Run.

Type in msconfig and press OK

When the system configuration utility comes up select the Startup Tab and you will see all the items that are listed under startup.

Uncheck all the items from the list expect your wireless connect. If you uncheck the wireless option you may not be able to access the wireless connection on rebooting your computer. No other program or software is required to boot the Windows as the Windows hides all the essential boot files from a users view.


Also a computer virus not only causes the slow PC issue but it is also responsible for the slow startup issue. For removing all kinds of PC viruses you must use the most updated antivirus program which should be capable to remove all kinds of infections from your system.
