How to deal with corrupt Windows registry?

The computer registry is not an unknown name or part for Windows users. In all modern Windows system the registry plays an important role. It contains all the configuration settings, options, user profiles and preferences about the installed software program and attached hardware components. Due to different system operations the registry can get corrupted and create many registry problems and PC performance issues.

With your brand new computer system you might have not noticed the need to effect any changes to your registry. Nevertheless, this is an inevitable fact that over time, your registry will grow as you install and uninstall software programs and hardware pieces on your system. These all system operations i.e. the additions and deletions will cause your Windows registry to become fragmented, corrupted.

The corrupt/ bloated registry can create many registry problems some of them are as follows:

Unused, obsolete Start Menu items,

Missing or corrupt application IDs,

Missing, orphaned, broken or bad application/Windows paths, shortcuts and links,

Whenever you uninstall any software from your computer system, for example, it is highly probable that remnants are still littering your hard drive and your registry. The grave consequences can be seen in form of frequent error messages, slow start-ups, slow computer/ PC, declining performance, system lock ups, severe degradation in operating speed, unstable and frequent application errors and crashes, and, it is also possible that you won’t be able to boot your Windows system at all.

Very Slow start-ups

Slow shutdown sometime takes ages to shutdown the system

How does the registry get corrupted?

When you install/uninstall any software program to and from your computer system the installation and uninstalling does not complete and some of the unwanted items or entries remain in your Windows registry. Over time these items create many registry problems and PC issues.

Some very strong programs such as security related software such as an antivirus, antispyware or a firewall are never really completely uninstalled leaving hard-to-find traces in your computer registry.

You may have rooted viruses, spyware, adware or other various malware inside your computer system.

Old, outdated and corrupt device drivers within your system can also make your computer registry corrupt or unstable to a great extent.

Removing these corrupt registry items is an important act and you should take care of your system as early as possible. If you do not remove or clean this unwanted and bad stuff from your system you might face many other registry and system related issues.
