Very often it has been observed that after a certain time say 6 months or so any brand new computer turns into a slow weak machine. There are number of reasons that can make your system run slow or affect the computer’s efficiency and performance. If you are planning or you have already bought a new computer these guidelines can help you to manage your computer so that you experience a smooth and quick system forever.   

Don’t install too many and unwanted software quickly

If you have bought a brand new computer and you are planning to set it up it is suggested not to install too many programs very quickly. Install only necessary programs first such as MS office products. Installing much software too quickly makes an ill effect on your computer and affects your windows registry as well. So install only important and trusted software only at least till the time your antivirus and other security software are installed.

Install antivirus and other security software before anything else

Antivirus helps you protect your computer from viruses, spyware and many other malicious software. The selection of any antivirus software should be your first priority. If you haven’t installed the antivirus program and then you install any infected or virus items you might face many issues with your computer. Installing antivirus is recommended always, however if you are using more than one antivirus program it can affect your computer to a great extent. Like antivirus software the firewall works as a safeguard for your computer system and if you are using the Internet it helps you filtering the traffic to your computer. Firewall programs are in built with windows system nowadays so make sure it is turn on all the time.

Do not plug in any infected media

One of the biggest sources of virus and other malware is secondary storage media such as a flash drive, pen drive CD/DVD etc. it is suggested prior to using them perform a full scan with your antivirus program and verify the are not containing any malicious items with them.
