How to fix DVD drive not found issue in Windows 7


Like all other previous operating systems windows 7 is not a flawless machine. It has many issues in it and some of them are very essential to fix i.e. these issues must be fixed in order to keep using your computer. DVD drive not found is one of the most important issues which your Windows 7 can show up. Here is below the reason and most possible solution about this problem and the fix has been very successful for thousands of Windows 7 machines.

This fix is from the Windows 7 registry which certainly involves with some security risks so beware of any unwanted change in the registry. Also if you are not good at editing the registry it is suggested not to modify it at all.
Click Start->Run and type REGEDIT, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318},






When reached remove both UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the right-hand pane (UpperFilters.bak and LowerFilters.bak entries can be ignored).
Close the registry editor and exit from it. Now check if the issue has been fixed or not.
If this does not make any difference and there is no change in it, you can reset the drive letter has worked for some instances. Its very easy to perform.
Click Start, type Disk Management and choose the "Create and format hard disk partitions" link.


Try locating your optical drive and right-click it,
Choose Change Drive Letter and Paths,
Click Change and choose any new letter. After this the drive should be visible in Explorer, and then repeat the process to modify the drive letter back; however if it's still not able to be seen, restart your computer and it should appear.
